I'm a little conflicted about Hegseth's speech. I wholeheartedly support the warrior ethos and the standards it takes to get there. I served when Jimmy Carter was President. We didn't have funds for ammo and fuel for training. We were broke dick as we say in the military. Reagan turned everything around. We got the funding and the result was the hundred day war in Desert Storm. We were back in the business of shock and awe. We quickly overran the Iraqi's and Taliban but then got bogged down. The wars there were run by the Political bureaucrats in Washington. Good generals were stopped/fired and we were not allowed to win.
Long story short, the politicians have lost wars the military could have won. If that doesn't change then we will continue to lose wars the politicians start. It's that simple.

I did not read Trump's speech as to the public. I read it as a first step to removing woke officers from the military. This is the way Trump operates: he says he is going to do something, then he does it. He has said he wants to return the military to a war-fighting stance. Now those who are not aligned with his vision have been notified and will be relieved if they continue focusing on other things. It also seems like a way to arrange face-to-face meetings with officers who would not usually be called home for such without bringing a lot of attention to them.
PDJT gave a very PUBLIC Order to the Military leaders for all to see and reflect on. Those leaders should now understand that they will be held accountable to their Constitutional Oath of office and We the People, not solely to the President, who they may,or may not, politically agree with. And on the Left, they still "believe" somewhat in the Nobel Peace Prize, so Trump receiving it has to give them some difficult cognitive dissonance to digest. Maybe it might actually start the "red-pilling process" for a small segment of liberals, like maybe 1-2%. That's not alot, but slivers of the old liberal voting bloc are waking up day by day, and in aggregate it does add up.
And I'm glad Trump is promoting himself for it. He is NOT doing it for self-glory. Trump is actually remarkable for his lack of ego on many of these things. He already is secure in his own identity and self, and does not need "external validation". I’ve been saying that prayer daily for decades. It started at the parish I attended in the 90s because we had some teens who were getting into all sorts of bad stuff. It seems that, as time goes on, there are more and more and more reasons to keep praying it.
Prayers do bear fruit - I’ve seen it numerous times in my own life. Just this last month, my newest grandson was born with no pulse and not breathing. It took the EMTs a couple of minutes to get his heart going and then several more to get him breathing. Everyone thought that his brain would be badly damaged. Eight days in a Neonatal ICU and the prayers of thousands of people we don’t even know, and his brain is perfectly normal and he’s thriving. Never ever doubt the power of prayer!
