The media misses this because it still thinks foreign policy is speeches, summits, and faculty-lounge morality. Trump understands power, memory, and alignment. Obama empowered chaos, embraced the Muslim Brotherhood fantasy, alienated the Gulf, and handed Iran cash. Trump reversed the whole table: Riyadh first, Israel next, terrorism named plainly, Gulf states treated as partners, Iran treated as the enemy, and Abraham Accords logic turned into regional architecture. That glowing orb the late-night clowns mocked was the symbol of something they were too stupid to understand. Trump built trust where Obama burned it. Now Iran has no Arab rescue. That is history.

The media misses everything because of overwhelming TDS. Trump hatred

not only does iran not have an arab rescue..it very much looks like it doesn't have a russia or a china rescue anytime soon either.

Even more so the city of London and Brussels will now have to face the music because they used the straight to manipulate the world economy. Chatham House is burning.

IMHO they always were. Theory with no footing in the normal world.

The "media" does not miss it; the "media" is a 5th column that the Iranians are depending on...

Sam Prentice's avatar

Their "reporting" on this has been obscene. I saw a headline from MSNow saying that "Iran has humiliated Trump with his ceasefire..." I read that and wondered how are these people able to find their way to the bathroom without a GPS? And the WSJ! The freaking Murdoch's have all lost their minds and have gone insane from their hatred of Trump. The media are finishing their own obituaries and are too stupid to realize it.

The media is lying by omission to affect the low information voters as usual.

Let us recall the waning days of WW II in Europe. With the Americans and their British allies approaching from the west and the dreaded Soviets approaching from the East, did Germany surrender? No, not until Hitler was dead in the Berlin bunker. Allied soldiers were being killed right up until Admiral Doenitz authorized the surrender of German military forces and Keitel and Jodl actually signed the surrender documents the following (VE) Day. Yet, not a single person (except possibly Axis Sally) expressed the opinion that The Allies were "losing" the war because hostilities were continuing in the months and days leading up to the surrender. Contrast with today's cadre of "I hate America" politicians and their catamites in the corporate media who bray about Iran's great and glorious victories in the continuing war against the Great Satan. One might think these people actually hate their own country. One would be correct.

donald b welch's avatar

Outstanding synopsis Don! Excellent read. PDJT has significantly changed the order of things in the Middle East. He IS the President of Peace who, unlike his predecessors, GETS THINGS DONE!!!

Yet he is willing to unleash the full might of our military when necessary.

I predict we will see the results of his strategies for decades.

It is obvious to me that the TDS in DC is caused simple by PDJT pulling back the curtain and exposing these professional “ticks” that infest our government.

Will he succeed in dismantling the Deep State? I doubt it but there are going to be some awesome perp walks very soon that may just be enough to turn this country around.

May GOD Almighty continue to bless and protect President Donald J. Trump and these United States of America.

My emotional side says to use every plane and every boat and every gun to obliterate every Islamist in Iran and elsewhere. My logical side says Trump has chosen the better way. Alliances and economic agreements will defeat Iran and Islamists by leaving them nowhere to go, and no friends in the world. And the future will be better for everybody.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

John Thune ally to anti PDJT forces is doing his best to make the American voters losers by failing to move the SAVE act through and to the presidents desk. PDJT has transformed world leaders into business men who understand peace is more prosperous than conflict but at home the democrat party aka socialist antifa want terror. The leaders of the evil [ yes abortion and child mutilation is heinous ]sow discord in a quest for power to punish all who disagree by urging violence including assassinations. The coming election must see conservative people of all faiths and creeds vote red in numbers comparable to a presidential election.

There is a fly in the ointment, his name is Erdogan. When the Iranian regime implodes which it eventually will, the Turkish would be Sultan with the largest army in the region will agitate the Gulf Arab states man on the street to riot against any peaceful relations with the Jews. Bill Clinton is walking on a beach and finds a lantern. He rubs it and a genie comes out. The genie tells him he can grant him any wish he desires.

Clinton tells the genie to make the Middle East fully at peace. The genie asks where is the Middle East? Clinton shows the genie a map of its place on Earth.

The genie tells him he grew up there 2000 years ago and asks him if they are still fighting just like they were then. Bill says it’s worse than ever!

The genie asks Bill if there is anything else he can wish for because he doesn’t think he can make that happen. Bill tells him that the next best wish is to give his wife the presidency of the US.

The genie looks at him and says he better have another look at that map!

Trump didn’t need a genie. Just his wisdom, wits and steel spine. History thankfully did not include Hillary and now does include a unified Arab nation against terrorism. Not a coincidence at all.

How about 614 AD when the Jewish and Persian Army took Jerusalem from the Byzantine Christians? The Jewish contingent then murdered many Christian civilians and threw their bodies into the Mamila Pool. Eventually they were halted in their massacre of Christians by the Persian Army. Could this be the source of enmity that Israel has for the Persian successor State of Iran?

TeaPartyGal's avatar

The thinking world is undergoing a sea change when it comes to understanding the Muslim world. Both the dark and the light is coming more clearly into focus.

The dark is the realization that the Islamists are very definitely pursuing a structured program to invade and take over the Western countries. This statement would have seemed extreme just a couple years ago; but the evidence for it now is crystal clear. All the Western Democracies have been under attack, and the Islamists have gained extensive ground in Europe, Britain, Canada, and Australia,--and in the U.S.

Don's column today focuses on the light, the Arab countries that are increasingly finding common ground with the US and Israel, and against Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, etc. Westerners have long fallen for the claim that a "moderate Islam" exists--but most of the time this is a moot assertion, because we have seen (e.g., Iraq) that all the "moderate" clerics simply end up being murdered by the violent Islamists. We cannot know at this time whether the six Arab countries currently partnering with the US in the Mideast genuinely represent a developing "moderate Islam", and whether they will be able to hold their ground against the extremist Islamists. Hopefully they will, and a clean-up of Islam as a religion will occur. But Islam is so corrupted, a "clean-up" may not be possible.

For many years, comparative religion was a passion of mine. As a layman, I have made efforts to study Islam, and have encountered and listened closely to Islamic clerics at the Parliament of the World's Religions. I found one Islamic cleric that was a keynoter back at the 1993 Parliament, who put his finger so articulately on the essential nature of spiritual experience, that I have quoted him favorably for years. But when I tried to interview him in person for a news article, he refused and could barely suppress his outrage at a woman daring to approach him for an interview.

Right now, there is a guy writing on Substack, Dan Burmawi, that I highly recommend to anyone wanting to understand the danger of Islam as a religion. He is a former Muslim, and now writes to dissect in depth the theology of Islam, so Westerners can understand it. This is another aspect of "the (very) dark" coming to light. He's at https://substack.com/@danburmawi. He also is at DanBurmawi.com. He has written alot of articles, but it might be worth going back to his earliest columns on DanBurmawi.com where he was first laying out point of view.

Chuck Goldman's avatar

Burmawi is fantastic is he not. Writes with knowledge, experience and insight. Probably one of the top 3 guys writing about this.

The world is waking up but is it too late? We here in NA might be OK if we deport and remigrate anybody from these Islamic shitholes who came here in the last 5-10 years and we start today, but Europe (and I mean ALL of Europe) is not only lost, they’re on the cusp of a Civil War that they are not only not acknowledging but think they’re ahead of the game on (🎶We’re Part of NATO and we’re OK🎶)

Of course I can’t find it right now but if You can find Amy Meks article on the state of Russian/Muslim integration it’ll cause the blood to drain from your face it’s that bad over there… yes I said Russian as in Russia under Putin.

If saving the West at all seems like a good idea, We’re It Kids! Best we get crackin too!

I will look up that reference, TPG, but forever I have failed to understand what, if any, is the attraction to Islam other than its opposition to Christianity & the West. Politics aside, I just don’t see the theology. Hate to sound like an ugly American, but going through all of this for 72 virgins seems ludicrous.

Chuck Goldman's avatar

It’s a religion of Sex, War and Conquest. It was a religion in which hand cleaning yoúr waste, and drinking camel urine puts you adjacent to their head guy and still is. They just (like last weekend) got finished with a holiday in which they slaughtered animals under the guise of sacrificing something to their god that’s useful to man. People who rub elbows with them tell a different story. It’s to watch the light of life leave the eyes of one of Gods creatures.

If they made a movie of what’s real in that shit pile of a religion no one would go cause it’s too horrible to watch

CStone's avatar

It seems ludicrous because it is. I have said for years that evil makes people stupid. And the proof is there if one is willing to observe. ALL cities that are run by demonicRATS are now simply slums. And demonicRATS truly are STUPID. And this is not an ad hominem attack.

Watch their actions. Take note of how fraudulent they are in ALL things. And the way they ‘govern’ is the essence of STUPIDITY and GREED.

I finally have started hearing others call it for what it is: STUPIDITY. And the way they think is almost exactly the way Islamists think. They are also evil, and their evil has made them STUPID.

72 raisins is what they will get.

tj's avatar

They are not Stupid. They are cunning like a fox (sorry to the foxes). They are EVIL. EVIL does with cunning what everyone else uses common sense for.

CStone's avatar

And evil makes anyone who practices it STUPID.

LuAnn's avatar

Bravo, TPG. You captured it exactly. Dan Burmawi is great. I would also recommend Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a former Muslim who is now a Christian. https://www.restoringthewest.com/ As it stands, and we wouldn't have thought this in the last five years, but Islam is a very clear danger to Western countries. I want to salute Tommy Robinson for seeing this years ago and for speaking out against the Pakistani Muslim rape gangs that have destroyed English working class girls. His cousin was a victim of one of these gangs. He saw it all before we did.

Also Brigitte Gabriel.

Yes, Brigitte Gabriel too. A Lebanese Arab Christian. Gad Saad too, a Lebanese Jew who has left Montreal after more than three decades to teach ni the U.S. because of the anti-Jewish climate in Montreal and at his former university.

TeaPartyGal's avatar

Yes. And also Mosab Hassan Yousef, whose father was an Iman and one of the founders of Hamas, who flat out says that Islam itself IS the problem. Yousef became an informer for the Mossad, then became a Christian, and now lives in the US and speaks widely (but lives hidden as he is under numerous death threats).

LuAnn's avatar

Yes to him also. Thanks, TPG.

The Accidental Hoosier's avatar

I trust Trump but I fear he has too much faith in what we would call "moderate" Islam. There's no such thing when one reads their "holy" book. Indeed, their book tells them to lie about their intentions until such time as they are powerful enough to implement their "faith" on everyone else.

Look no further than Paris this weekend to see how impossible it is to expect "moderate" Islam.

Power will keep the Saudis, etc. in line, and strategic alliances are fine. But we have allowed millions of (by definition in their book) militants into our country who will never assimilate. Only when they are returned to make their own nations great can we possibly have peace with their religion.

Joseph Kaplan's avatar

I was thinking the same thing. Just hadn’t thought out how to say it. You’re absolutely correct.

LuAnn's avatar

Sadly, there is no such thing as moderate Islam. You either become Westernized or you don't belong here.

The Accidental Hoosier's avatar

And the reverse is true: To their believers, you either convert, pay tribute, or die. There are no exceptions; this is the case anywhere they obtain power.

LuAnn's avatar

Yes, you are right about that Accidental Hoosier.

tj's avatar

Unfortunately, I believe you are correct. There was a reason the Crusades happened. The two view points are totally diametric from each other.

That was a great speech that PDJT gave at the Arab Islamic American Summit. I don't recall if our "media" praised it, but I doubt that they would since they tend to not praise any Trumpian thing.

It is interesting to see how Trump's remarks in 2017 regarding the Gulf States kicking the terrorists out of their countries resulted in the idiot liberals in the UK and EU accepting them with open arms, the USA also under the moronic Democrats.

Alexander Scipio's avatar

Democrats, like Islamists, are fully-committed enemies of liberty. Birds of a feather.

Phil Hawkins's avatar

There's one factor in the Iran conflict that I don't see much of in the news. The mullahs and much of the Iranian leadership are fanatic Shiite Muslims. The split between Shiite and Sunni Muslims goes back to a fight over who was going to be the Caliph--the Supreme Leader of Islam--less than 100 years after Mohammed. And one core Shiite doctrine is that the Twelfth Imam, a direct descendant of Mohammed, will someday return. It's somewhat similar to the ideas some Christians hold about the End Times. (I'm a Christian, but I try to keep a distinction between the Biblical doctrines and the wacko interpretations some get into.) I suspect the hard-core mullahs and the IRGC leaders are praying that they can hold on until the 12th Imam shows up and conquers the world for them. From what I have read on current Iran, most of the Iranian people are fed up with the 47 years of harsh rule by the mullahs. But the hard-core Shiites have had the weapons and the power--until this year.

Alexander Scipio's avatar

Iranian millenarian Shia requires a man-caused global conflagration to bring about the return of the 12th imam. This is the entire purpose of their developing a nuke, which they would use the day they completed it. Those who fail to understand this would take the world TOWARD that conflagration.

Jake's avatar

I'm pretty sure they know if they give in they will be hung from a lamp post eventually.

Sheila Barkofske's avatar

Finally, a bit of meaning (the coming of the 12th Imam). So like those Jews waiting for second coming of David who is going to conquer all Israel’s enemies, Shiite Muslims are basically same chapter, different verse. Unfortunately, some Christians are not that much different in waiting for the End of Times.

tj's avatar

It is amazing that all the major religions align in that way?
