There is a book of Martin Luther King's sermons/essays called "Strength to Love". One of the essays is about "the problem with Communism". I don't have it in front of me to refer to now, but IIRC, he deeply criticized the atheism of Communism, and reaffirmed the superiority of the Christian message.

Did you say History Month? I have a copy of The New Simms History of South Carolina published in 1940 and adopted as the official public school text book on SC history. It has an orange cover but, the cover should be white. It is definitely not a book written by the victors. It was written by the granddaughter of William Gilmore Simms, a famous antebellum pro slavery author, and it shows. A former slave Robert Smalls, a brave Civil War hero and Republican Congressman is not mentioned. Robert Smalls should be in Statuary Hall.
I was stationed at Charleston 1968-1969. I recall going to a park in downtown Charleston & seeing the old bathrooms (I don't recall if they were still in use) labeled "Black" and "White".
When I began my career in the late 70's, I worked in an electric generating station near Charleston. The bathrooms and the water fountains in the station were labeled 'Black' and 'White'. Some doctor's offices had 'Black' and 'White' waiting rooms. You may recall that South Carolina was solid Democrat territory until the second Republican governor, Jim Edwards, was elected.
Thank goodness, the restrooms were eventually labeled 'Men' and 'Women' and separate waiting rooms eliminated. All this was leftover Democrat policy from bygone days. He said something about 'judging a man, not by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character.' If our thoughts, our hearts, our minds ... even our laws ... reflected that thinking, we'd be a much better society, and we would look at the people in the news, and especially in our government, with a much clearer vision. In fact, we'd need some new elections tomorrow for sure.
We had a fascinating discussion with a black man about his family a few years ago. His family remained free due to the (arcane and malevolent) laws that governed free vs. slave. His great grandmother, iirc, was born free and hence that privilege accrued to her descendants (as he told it).
His family made $$ in real estate as well as pursuing various gov’t jobs. His takes on Virginia and its history were not uniformly ones we agreed with, but it was a productive and interesting conversation.
FWIW, there were more slave owners than folks realize that inherited slaves and tried to free them. Many slaves did not accept the offer as sadly, they weren’t sure what to do otherwise. Well, the greatest lie the Left has ever told, and made into a plank of their party, soldered down with steel bolts, was that blacks will always be inferior and thus forever require a hand up from their benevolent betters, also known as Affirmative Action.
Generations upon generations have been duped into believing this lie, which only resulted in brainwashing a continually aggrieved constituency, who, as a result, became almost totally dependent upon said benevolence, also known as welfare.
AA is probably the single most insulting and demeaning policy one could ever dream up, but, wow, it has been a rousing success.
Only now DIE has said, “Hold my beer!”and has handed the whip to said aggrieved constituency with orders to punish those they claim subjugated them. But that’s not actually who’s getting whipped.
The ones being ostracized are actually the very people who believed in their equal merit, who never judged them by the color of their skin, who believed everyone was just as capable of working to partake in the vast opportunities the country offered.
But those who created this twisted DIE monster egg them on and once again use them for their own diabolical ends to tear this country apart.
Everybody needs to wake the heck up and recognize that there is nothing, not one good or benevolent or truthful aspect to the Democrat party and that it is a diabolical and devious entity wholly consumed with attaining power by any means necessary, without the least bit of consideration ever for this country’s or anyone’s actual welfare, only purely power for power’s sake.
The Democrat party as currently constituted must be utterly extinguished out of existence.
And when you get a successful person who's a conservative, like Clarence Thomas, they'll proclaim they got there due to AA. But, they'll deny that KBJ got there due to AA. They live in a bizzarro upside down world. There is no cure - they must be destroyed.

The Democratic Party embraced a deeply flawed ideology, and is now going down with it. It is long past the time when it could have "come back".

Perhaps the finest young man I ever had working under me in my entire life was a black high school student. He was a youth deacon in his church, taught Sunday School and mentored youth, tutored younger kids, and worked with his church’s charitable outreach. He was bright, polite, friendly to customers, never rude and always looking for more work to do. He would have easily have become a manager had he wished. However, the company appointed a black woman to manage our store. Her third day there, she referred to him as “ghetto trash,” which was her, actually. His response was to quit immediately, telling me “Sorry, I don’t need this.”
OMG! That is heartbreaking! I pray he landed on his feet elsewhere and continues to lead a successful life!! Gods bless him wherever he is!

The only people who have been duped are the whites and other people who think that all races/ethnicities are exactly equal but for their visible characteristics. They are not equal. They have intelligence differences, they have genetic differences, different muscularity, different levels of hormones, and different rates of development.

Why Would You Discriminate?
Discriminating against someone for the color of their skin makes about as much sense as discriminating against someone because they wear bright green socks. It makes no sense. On the other hand, if you can position those who are wearing bright green socks as under privileged, downtrodden and oppressed, and in need of assistance and watching over (by you), you can position yourself as a friend and benefactor them. Then, you can position the rest of the world - everyone not wearing green socks - as the oppressors, the haters, the evil discriminators and defeat them politically.

There are real differences between races that have real life impacts.
Yes. As an old white guy I am less likely to get sickle cell anemia. There are other differences - would you care to elaborate? Or are you just trolling today?
You can look up crime statistics, you can look up IQ levels, etc. (across multiple populations of different races and ethnicities). If you're not jewish, then you are also less likely to get Tay-Sachs disease.
And you can even look at behaviors across the world and go "hmmmmm" until you figure it out.
