Colorado also had a rotten core, Boulder and Central Denver, which helped when the Dems in the State House re-districted in 2010. After that, no chance at all for Republicans in the 7 or 8 big front range counties.

Where it went wrong for the Dems in AZ was so many CA Republicans moved in to AZ also and we were much more ready for them this time.
