I love that "cop" picture of DJT. It is almost at evocative as his photo at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta. And the one of him driving a garbage truck!

Neera Goitein's avatar

The deliciousness of cool common sense - thank you, Don! A great day to you all.

No's avatar

Communists love crime in the streets. It allows them to crack down on the law abiding citizens.

Doug's avatar

It appears there are fewer and fewer 'law-abiding citizens' in DC, and crime is the culture.

No's avatar

Every decent person I knew who lived there has fled. I believe you are correct. Where's Snake Plisskin? Escape from D.C.

Skinnydip's avatar

Including at least half of Congress.

Mike r Croft's avatar

Every politician that loves to ignore crime in the inner city should be forced to live in the inner city!

VICKI's avatar

giving new meaning to "drain the swamp" and all the snakes in it.

Mike r Croft's avatar

Good one No. Law abiders are the only ones with money to pay up! LOL

Apparently, most of us are agreed on schools. Shut 'em down and start over. We don't need more PHd's in computer science; we need more plumbers, electricians, carpenters, HVAC guys, painters, non-illegal alien yard service companies, miners, bakers, independent business start ups, and people who don't mind working for a living. Get the hoodlums, hooligans, and freeloaders out, and start getting in people who have a conscience, moral directive, and a work ethic. God help the USA.

VICKI's avatar

best comment so far!!! and it's about time! Let Judge Pirro loose and a lot of us mothers who play hardball. society has to run by rules.

“My father always used to tell me. ‘Son, when you walk into a restaurant and you see a dirty front door, don’t go in. Because if the front door is dirty, the kitchen is dirty also.’ If our capital is dirty, our whole country is dirty.” DJT's father was a wise man & did a great job of raising DJT.

Robert Rivera's avatar

But people listen to MSM & believe he was a terrible father & raised a rotten son who is not successful because his Dad left him millions, that he turned into billions unlike Obama’s father… wait, his dad was a drunk who abandoned little Barry. Or PhD smart Al “Freddie’s Fashion Mart” Sharpton who rose to the top. Not like cream, but the gas filled turd that floats at the top.

Adorable Deplorable's avatar

Do we all notice the difference between DJT's children and FJB's?

LuAnn's avatar

Yes, the difference is clear. Trump is a better father, no question.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Loving parents versus pedophile parenting AD ??

Joe LaGreca's avatar

Yet the media have always tried to portray Trump's kids as messed up. I recall reading that no matter what Trump was doing (like business meetings), he would always take a call from any of his kids. Reminds me of the scene in Elf where the James Caan character had to make a similar choice.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

PDJTs children are great examples of a fathers love and guidance thru multiple marriages and mothers, AMAZING imho !!

LuAnn's avatar

I agree with DJT on his opinion and his father's on clean restaurants. The state of a restaurant's bathroom also gives you a clue about the state of its kitchen.

Adorable Deplorable's avatar

A HUGE pet peeve of mine. Going to a fine restaurant that has an unkept bathroom. No excuse.

darrell's avatar

Then you simply must visit Buc-ee's. https://buc-ees.com Their bathrooms are the cleanest in the industry.

Robert Rivera's avatar

That rules out 95% of McDonalds & Burger King restaurants.

darrell's avatar

When I visit cities I like to take a swipe down the back allies of the restaurants. There you will see the cooks taking a smoke break and you will see the true makeup of the people in that city. A clean front door can be a facade.

I'm old enough to remember that prior to 1961 DC residents could not vote in presidential elections since DC was a federal territory. Prior to the early 1970's, DC did not have a representative in the House that could vote, did not have a mayor, did not have a city council. From the founding, DC was a federal district, meant to contain the operations of the federal government, not a place of residence.

The land on which the federal District of Columbia sits was ceded by Maryland. Temporary housing was built for the workers constructing the buildings. Housing was never intended as permanent. Nevertheless, the housing remained and permanent housing built as workers and and others set down roots knowing they had no voting privileges or representation.

If the people of DC want to be in a state, the land containing residential housing should be returned to Maryland. The remainder of the federal district and any property on which a federal building is constructed should be returned to the status it had for 200 years - a federal territory controlled by the President and Congress.

John Swindall's avatar

100% agree. By pushing that population back into Maryland, it can do no harm since Maryland is already full of lunatics.

I know this firsthand since I was once a resident in Montgomery County.

Joseph Kaplan's avatar

I went to college in DC in 1961-63. Walked everywhere never a thought about safety. Never heard about anyone being hurt.

Brian LeMay's avatar

👍Dead on , and the only solution. DC's purpose is neutral site for governance and tourism .

Sophie's avatar

Exactly what I came here to say! So well stated. Thank you!

Our Founders would be horrified with what the District has become.

Valoree Dowell's avatar

Oooh. Reparations. Gotta like that.

The breadth and depth of Trump Derangement is illustrated by the reactions of various democrat/media personalities to the undeniable truth that Washington DC is one of the most dangerous cities in the world, not merely in the USA. Murder rates in places like Paris, France, London, England and even New Delhi, India are below 2 per thousand residents while DC is "happy" with one of 27.5 per thousand. How dare Trump seek to make the residents of DC safer? He's an authoritarian! We want our children to experience the joy of being shot down in the street! We can't wait to have our cars stolen, or better yet, get hijacked while we are behind the wheel! Trump bad; gangbangers good! This is not a normal reaction, people; these poor souls suffer from a serious mental disease.

Skinnydip's avatar

For a very long time I have believed one day TDS will be medically recognized as a mental disease.

TeaPartyGal's avatar

Or, let's see it finally get included in the liberal's precious DSM (full acronym is the DSMMD)--the official Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders--which is what the psychiatric profession uses for insurance coverage and billing purposes.

(Interestingly, the DSM actually listed religious belief as a mental disorder until just recently.)

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

The creeping of socialism is purposefully slow so as not to alarm but win by stealth made up of apathetic populaces. The old [ give em an inch ] applied.

Robert Rivera's avatar

Marlan, the same can be said for LGBT & marijuana. First it was just recognition, then for partner insurance, then legal marriage, then we want sex with under age boys & girls. Marijuana just for medical use, then legalize for any condition. My old neighbor in Illinois was a chemist for Abbott/AbbVie who said cigs bad/weed good. His brain was fried. Lol He swore it cured anything. I asked if it would help me with not wanting to go to work that day? 🤣

darrell's avatar

that's per 100,000 not 1,000.

Steve (recovering lawyer)'s avatar

I am embarassed, mostly because I knew it was per hundred thousand, but typed per thousand. Duh! Oh well, I think my point remained valid.

Playswithneedles's avatar

I heard on a talk radio show yesterday that DC has more than twice the per capita murder rate of Baghdad, Iraq and Lagos, Nigeria, two of the worst shiitehole cities on the planet. And demonicrats are proud of that. As the article states, all crime rates have “fallen” because they either don’t get reported or the LEO’s don’t act on them - too much paper work involved. Or the perps are part of the “protected” group. Almost half of DC’s residents fall into that category.

Note that none of the people screeching about this had a problem with Bowser bringing in the NG for Pedo Joe’s inauguration and keeping them there for months. Making them sleep in parking garages during the winter.

Have I mentioned lately that I hate demonicrats?

Suzie's avatar

The FBI, under Wray and Comey, were also caught out fudging the National Crime statistics, so those stats too, dramatically under count all crime nationally, as well.

LuAnn's avatar

Me, too. I also hate liberals - that's what they are in Canada.

SDN's avatar

"Being a big city is no excuse because New York City’s homicide rate is 4.7 per 100,000 people—which is below the national average of 5.9 per 100,000 people."

Don, please do not cite things like this. NYC has ALL the problems of DC --- including cooking the books on their crime statistics.

Wim de Vriend's avatar

I'd never thought of this before, but big-city police chiefs face powerful temptations to falsify their crime statistics. After all, their careers and salaries and benefits depend on them, and any honest policemen who dare dispute them will be thrown into outer darkness, where there is wailing and gnashing of teeth and stomping on badges ...

SDN's avatar

And this isn't new; Democrats have been doing this since the 90s.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

And all male chiefs shall be replaced by a female of color.

Wim de Vriend's avatar

I've been wondering about that for some time. But maybe combining those attributes guarantees superior upper body strength - needless to say, along with impeccable honesty.

Steve Boggs's avatar

Yes, SDN, this doesn’t pass the smell test.

Shoveltusker's avatar

Agreed. Norfolk & Waypal.

"He wants to rid our nation’s capital of the homeless, hooligans and homicidal maniacs."

That's great! What about all the other criminals who AREN'T members of congress?

NNTX's avatar

So I have a theory that our VSG Pres Trump also wants Washington to be safe and gleaming for our 250th celebration of the Nation's Founding...next year!

Wouldn't it be great if all the other corrupt Democrat run cities (NYC, LA, Chicago, New Orleans, Portland, Seattle, St. Louis etc etc) were also cleaned up by 2026?!

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Would like to see this in my lifetime but I do not have decades left NNTX.

Robert Rivera's avatar

🤣🤣Most accurate reply today NFT!

William Coulter's avatar

The Big Balls incident put this issue on the front page and, as usual, Trump is stepping up to try to make the place safer for all… except the criminals and the homeless who have been the willing idiots of the left.

Glad to see ann adult in the room for a change.

Chuck Goldman's avatar

Am I wrong to ask ‘who’, specifically, is doing all this killing or do I already know?

Chuck Goldman's avatar

…and a son showing respect to his father by quoting him…priceless!

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Says a lot about parenting Chuck

Playswithneedles's avatar

You already know - almost 50% of the population is of a certain demographic.

Joe LaGreca's avatar

It's not the color of their skin - it's their behavior. Whenever you hear someone say, "that's a bad neighborhood" you know what that means.

Jeremy R's avatar

It has everything to do with an absence of a father in the home.

Feminazis decry patriarchal society. This is what a matriarchal society looks like.

Suzie's avatar

The break up of the family was a direct result of Democrats policies, like welfare, affirmative action, etc., all of which disincentivized work and marriage and personal responsibility.

“We’re from the government we’re here to help”, has created more destruction than a thousand bombs ever could.

Jeremy R's avatar

I'm of the opinion that the donks had carefully studied the effects of removing fathers from families. After all, that is what lynching did. But lynching is not conducive to mass production. The Germans learned that with the death squads in Russia. They needed their version of the death camp and they needed the population to cooperate in their eventual suicide.

Blacks account for 50% of murders while comprising only 13% of the population. Locking up a murderer gets him off the street, executing him swiftly deters others from that path.

Making "allowances" by substituting probation for prison keeps the criminal in the neighborhood and destroying.

I believe you are saying that there were no unintended consequences and I agree.

Suzie's avatar

Totally, it is intentional, they’ve admitted as much, to keep them perpetually subservient to the state, a permanent underclass, short of wiping them out altogether, I.e. abortion.

NNTX's avatar

A quick story to share...from iirc around 2010-2011. My husband and I were in Washington D.C. for a weekend. Several young men were walking in front of us with their trouser waistband around their knees, boxers showing.

I walked up to them and asked what their grandmothers would think about that attire. Interestingly they all were embarrassed, pulled up their pants and said their grandmothers were horrified. We had a nice chat afterwards and I encouraged them to study and work hard

Probably I would be knifed now if I had that conversation. OTOH, as a community we also need to show these young people how different life can be.

(I have a number of such stories but won't tire y'all with them today)

VICKI's avatar

Good ideas but in today's world, I would not even go there. Beware, they don't care if you're a woman or who, you are the enemy to the low lifes. They have no respect for life.

Cookie McCall's avatar

That is thanks to the corrupt LBJ and his Great Society

Chuck Goldman's avatar

‘I’ll have those ******* voting Democrats for the next 200 years.’ Ya mean that backstabbing murdering d-rat lbj

Cookie McCall's avatar

That's exactly who I mean. It's embarrassing to have to admit that he's from Texas

Jeremy R's avatar

And they continue that behavior to this day.

darrell's avatar

Nailed it. That was by design.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Mom was a widow with 12 children but neighbors were her eyes and ears when we were away from her voice.

Jim Miller's avatar

Marlan, I'm amazed your Mom managed to raise 12 kids and lived through it, so you all must have been a pretty good and resourceful bunch. You just don't see that anymore. If we had just a few hundred thousand couples like your folks, we'd already be pulling our way out of the population death spiral we and the entire western world is in.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Sometimes I didn't get slightly used attire for Christmas so I felt lucky.

darrell's avatar

I'm betting all you had to play with when you were a kid was, "outside". As in go outside and play>

Jeremy R's avatar

What was your favorite toy growing up?

Dirt! And we were happy.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Chuck Goldman's avatar

Wow Marlan, bet you gave some stories around family get togethers

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

We dont seem to re-une but all have phones with unlimited calling and data. Four have gone to heaven ,all too early but in THE LORDS rollcall.

LuAnn's avatar

Yes, Jeremy R. Agree 100%.

UncleWiggly's avatar

Per the Poll; federalize DC schools is winning, but why? When has education ever been better when any form of government is involved? The best we can do for schools is to privatize all of them.

Skinnydip's avatar

Exactly! That's why I voted for trading Vermont for Alberta.

UncleWiggly's avatar

Funny. That is what I voted for too.

E G's avatar

Yes! With the bonus of getting rid of Bernie Sanders! He could go yell at the Canadians!

Retirednottired's avatar

True, but before we can privatize DC schools, they must be taken out of the hands of the Socialist incompetents who currently control them. They would never allow privatization under their rule.

UncleWiggly's avatar

That is what privatization would do in most cases. Some parents would prefer to have socialism taught to their children. They would be able to choose that, but it wouldn't be forced on the rest of us. Other benefits include the elimination of teachers unions and school boards.

Shrugged's avatar

There's got to be a decision point where something can either be fixed or it should be demolished and rebuilt. I'm afraid the leftists have successfully gotten DC to the point that it can't be fixed. Demolish and start over. We can write off California and idiots like Mayor Bass but we can't allow our nation's capital to be a humiliation to our country's legacy.

Steve Boggs's avatar

By “demolish” I take you to mean ‘put under new management.’

Shrugged's avatar

Yes, a clarification is in order here.

I mean demolish the systems and structures of the local government and management that oversee - and enable - the crime. I am not talking about monuments.

The problem is unqualified and misdirected people that should be cut out and removed (ie demolished), not the buildings.

Demolish the system of corruption.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Nailed it, the unqualified regime in charge . Shrugged

Jeremy R's avatar

I was thinking we could do a Gaza impersonation on it but first we need fences.

Wim de Vriend's avatar

It's not Gov Bass but Mayor Bass. I mean, Mayor Bass-Awkwards.

Shrugged's avatar

You're right - good catch. Made the edit and it is now corrected.

Thanks.

Jeremy R's avatar

The worst criminals in DC wander the halls of Congress. Half the country is mad they haven't been arrested the other half is worried they will be.

Robert Rivera's avatar

It’s too bad that people cannot bring their money with them in eternity. Imagine 98% of Congress hauling truckloads of $1 bills with them & finding out they will be needed to fuel the furnace

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

PDJT showed how he won three elections yesterday, delivering a peace plan for our Capitol and taking arrows ,oops questions for an hour plus. Peace in DC is akin to the southern border, just needed an aware and honest administration not on the take.

TeaPartyGal's avatar

Well put. DC has been deteriorating for a long time. It took Trump2 to finally grab the bull by the horns.
