Macron, peace be upon him will soon begin to wear the hajib along with the rest of the EU’s eunuchs.

Remember when we used to call them cheese-eating surrender monkeys?

steph_gray's avatar

Groundskeeper Willie, wasn't it?

He knew his stuff!

imkitty's avatar

I don't know if Rush began calling them that, but it was during Slick Willie's time.

steph_gray's avatar

You're probably right about the timing.

But I believe the phrase itself originated with a character in the Simpsons cartoons.

I also vaguely remember the phrase really caught fire with conservatives shortly after the towers fell but can't remember what France did to deserve it. Around the same time we were calling French fries "Freedom" fries in defiance... I'm sure someone here will know.

It's hard to keep track of particulars on bad ideas originating from France because such ideas are so numerous. Far easier to remember their sole decent idea - embracing nuclear energy sources.

Wim de Vriend's avatar

Yes, it's really odd: when you travel through France you'll see nuke power plants from one end to the other, when the Germans got so spooked by the Fukushima meltdown that they decided to close the few they had -- which made no sense because they don't have the exposure to earthquakes and Tsunamis that Japan has.

imkitty's avatar

You're probably right. I never watched the Simpsons.

steph_gray's avatar

I actually have hardly ever watched it myself, but I think the clip was linked from either lucianne, or the conservative treehouse…

Jim Nelson's avatar

Yeah, I think that was last Tuesday.

As they say in Japan, "Trump number one kaiju. He stomp you long time."

David Thompson's avatar

But seriously, I think this is far less about Trump than it is about God. Our country will either return to faith in Jesus Christ – in which case we will be blessed among nations – or not – in which case our nation will become something people whisper in fear "Look at what God did to them!" Trump is just the means by which God opens our eyes to Him.

tzed's avatar

Interesting you say that. I watched this video a couple of days ago. It’s why there are less Arabs visiting the Temple Mount. It has to do with Jews now going there and prostrating themselves before God. The Arabs fear them because of this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7n9vZRC2r5U

David Thompson's avatar

So much bad theology... on the part of the Arab who Fleisher's rabbi quotes (they equate Allah with Yahweh, but the power, nature, and purpose of them are opposed – so while submission to God is good, the Arabs understand it only in terms of their "mission" to force submission on the world); and on the part of Fleisher and the rabbi he interviews (who are *still* looking for a Messiah who is a military leader after Jesus came with a better covenant); and on the part of the Jewish people prostrating themselves on the temple mount (but God does not love ritual – he wants them to love Him and their brothers; to pick up their crosses and die to the desires of the flesh daily).

Wim de Vriend's avatar

Well, no matter how you put it, surrendering your will to God's providence is fruitful. Whenever I forgot to do so, it cost me dearly.

Wim de Vriend's avatar

Hey, that is awesome!

darrell's avatar

I didn't really understand what he meant...

dancingtime's avatar

Considering that we are a Judeo-Christian country, I find it always amusing to read comments about Jesus Christ....It always makes me think about what Muslims always say....Is there a difference? I don't think so. How about just returning to belief in God, no matter how you worship, instead of believing in nothing or The State?

David Thompson's avatar

If you look carefully at Christianity and islam and do not see a difference, heaven help you. The god who muslims put their faith in is not one I would ever worship: capricious, impatient, and haughty, calling for the faithful to murder those who do not immediately submit. The words written across the al Aqsa mosque on the temple mount in Jerusalem are (translated as) "God forbid that God should have a son." It is a direct attack on Christ. Muslims consider it an abomination that their god should participate in the world; it is beneath him. As disciples of Christ, we are not called to repay the evil muslims would visit upon us with more evil, but with love. That does not mean helping them murder us, but it means showing kindness to them so they can understand the true nature of God. God sent Jesus to redeem us; unlike every other religion in the world, our God provides salvation to his creation. Others (islam, judaism, buddhism, etc.) insist you must earn your salvation.

So, when you say everyone should just believe in their own God, do you want the muslims to behead us? That is worship to them. As far as Jewish people who do not put their faith in Jesus, the bible tells us that they will be made (like all people who do not live by faith but by works) to love evil in order that they be convicted by the law He gave to them (Romans 1). Our desire as disciples of Jesus should be to love them and help them to live by faith and not the law. Either we speak the truth of the gospel to them as well as to atheists or we have failed to keep Jesus's great commission (Matthew 28:18). Speaking the truth about Jesus is our worship. You want us to muzzle ourselves in order to get along with everyone? Sorry, but God doesn't call me to do that.

Jeremy R's avatar

"god" has no son, yet the satanic verses say he has two daughters.

Okay, what they call the satanic verses, what I call the satanic verses are the entire koran.

Jeremy R's avatar

The GOD of Abraham and the god of Mohammed are not the same. If you read the Bible from a historical context and search, you will find many relics that confirm it's accuracy. The cities described exist, the places described match the descriptions.

With the Koran, the descriptions of Mecca are laughable. It's in a barren desert. The zum zum well is a mere trickle compared to it's description. It's location isn't near the trade routes.

Jay Smith, a researcher from England does an excellent job of breaking it down.

Mosques have a Kaba, a praying wall facing Mecca except early mosques have theirs facing Petra, and the earliest have theirs pointed in random directions.

As Christians, we are told to spread the good news, and if someone rejects the message, to shake the dust from our sandles as we leave.

Muslims are told to spread it by force, kill, enslave or tax those who don't accept it.

The symbol of islam is a crescent moon and a sword. Allah was originally the moon god of the Arabs. Their filth is spread by violence.

All across Europe rape is on the rise, perpetrated by adherents of the pedophile from Mecca.

There is no similarity between the two religions and not the same God.

dancingtime's avatar

I have no respect for Islam so get that out of your head. My constant is that “Christians” (most of whom actually are not very “Christian”) think that that is the only way to live a good life. I believe in God but do not believe that there is only one intolerant path. Live by the Ten Commandments or the condensed version The Golden Rule. I simply do not care what you or anyone else quotes from any books or organized religion.

Jeremy R's avatar

I was simply pointing out the differences between them. I'm not going to try to force you to believe anything. Your life, your choice.

David Thompson's avatar

I agree there are many who call themselves Christians who do not live as Christ commands us to. However, either you believe the bible is the word of God (which it claims in 2 Tim 3:16) or you are making up some other God to believe in. If you do believe in the God of the bible, then please read Acts 4:11-12, which says only the name of Jesus Christ provides salvation.

dancingtime's avatar

I don't believe that, if there is something after death, that the only way to "salvation" is through belief in Jesus Christ. I lost that belief in the fifth grade. I believe it is how you live your life and what is in your heart...

My mother, who could debate the Bible with the best of them (and who would often do so, as a form of entertainment, with the Jehovah's Witnesses when they would stick their foot in the doorway to keep her from closing it) preached living by the Ten Commandments...I prefer the KISS method of the Golden Rule..

Steve (recovering lawyer)'s avatar

No offense meant, but I am unclear what you intend to mean about "returning to belief in God." To what God do you refer? The one known as allah, worshipped by moslems, who demands subjugation of or death to unbelievers? Certainly not, I trust. America fought its very first war against moslems, the Barbary Pirates who are sung about in The Marine Corps Hymn, who inhabited "the Shores of Tripoli." There neither is, nor can there be any commonality of belief in the God of The Bible and allah. At best, Christians can achieve only a wary detente with the followers of mohammad.

dancingtime's avatar

I do not subscribe to any organized religion….try just God…the creator…

Jeremy R's avatar

Okay, but how do you find out what GOD wants from you or communicates to you?

Wim de Vriend's avatar

Even the heathens at the ACLU and the NEA and the SPLC should see that. But I doubt they will.

darrell's avatar

Now if he could only crawl out of bed with the J#ew#s.

dancingtime's avatar

I have not presented myself as a student of the Bible...nor do I have any desire to be....

darrell's avatar

Then your words make sense.

David Thompson's avatar

We are called to speak the truth in love. Romans 11:17-24 commands us "do not be arrogant to the branches". 2 Cor 3:15-16 tells us a veil has been placed over the hearts of the Jews. If you revile them as a whole, how likely are they to come to know our savior Jesus - chosen from among them?

darrell's avatar

They are the synagogue of Satan . Rev 2:9 and 3:9.

Reddog's avatar

You are one of the sheep who has clearly lost his way.

darrell's avatar

That is a possibility as I am not infallible. I just go by His very complex instruction book.

Jeremy R's avatar

GOD told Abraham " I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you."

If you are a Christian, you are worshipping a Jew and every word written in the Bible was written by a Jew.

darrell's avatar

The NT was written by Jews but they were post Christ Jews and the entirety of the Scriptures were authored by the HOLY Spirit.

darrell's avatar

This is true of His elect. However the unbelieving Jews who rejected the Messiah were cast out of Jerusalem and the Temple was destroyed. (this was the 3rd disporia) They were cast out over the known world and have known no rest. Not all Israel is Israel Romans 9:6

David Thompson's avatar

Jesus *is* a Jew. Salvation is of the Jews. However, the bible makes it clear that ethnic Hebrews are not considered Jews unless they put their faith in Christ.

darrell's avatar

Correct and Paul told the Church and the unbelieving Jews, "that not all Israel is Israel."

darrell's avatar

Now ya talking.....

Jeremy R's avatar

Still is, son of GOD and son of man.

Reddog's avatar

Stop hating Darrell. You wont find any place in the Bible where God calls you to hate others.

darrell's avatar

I do not hate anyone. But I love my Savior and want to follow him. If that means calling a spade a spade then I will do it. People confuse the human understanding of love with Biblical love.

Jeremy R's avatar

You aren't calling a spade a spat, you ARE spouting hate.

darrell's avatar

I hate only those who hate my Lord. I am not judging them they are condemning themselves by rejecting the Messiah.

Reddog's avatar

Darrell, you are lying to yourself. You are twisting meanings to suit your position. My opinion.

darrell's avatar

I respect your opinion but disagree.

And a Renault in the garage only counts if it is operable, which it probably isn’t.

I still have a remnant in a small bottle of perfume my mom owned, that I think she splurged on (we weren't well off) back in the fifties.

It was called "Shocking" by Paris designer Elsa Schiaparelli (who was Italian born actually).

Best I ever inhaled. Sometimes for very special occasions I wear two drops.

Paris - How the mighty have fallen. I like to remember it as it was in the footage of the shopping trip in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes."

steph_gray's avatar

Oh, and William's point applies perfectly - because I have nothing else French-made in my house, and of course this perfume hasn't been available for *a donkey's age.

The immanent downfall of Europe started in 1859 when 1,500 copies of a book first went on the shelves in book stores in London, England. Every one of those 1,500 books sold the very first day. It's author who you already know said at the end of his life, "I was only speculating and they took it and made a religion of it."

I had read that Darwin didn't like his wife being so religious & going to church every day. So his theories & book were to counter Christianity.

Wim de Vriend's avatar

I recently read a very extensive biography of Darwin, by A N Wilson, titled "Charles Darwin -- Victorian Mythmaker". It's extremely thorough, covering not just the flimsy evidence for his main theme, Evolution, which he stole from someone much less famous, but also his family background, children, illnesses, and much more. He also holds that Darwin's thesis was timed extremely well, in that by 1859 European and British elites were eager for evidence supporting Agnosticism -- which explains much about why it was so well-received in snooty circles.

Personally I have never tried reading Darwin's 1859 Magnum Opus, but I have read his earlier book about his fact-finding trip: "Voyage of the Beagle Around The World", which was very enjoyable. I can recommend it.

Reddog's avatar

Darwins theory of Evolution should have been titled “the book of holes”.

darrell's avatar

I have Heard that he supported Christian missions because he went in places that the missionaries had visited years earlier. He said some of the places would have had him for lunch had they not been Christianized. Also heard that he was always seen reading his Bible on his death bed. But who knows.

Wim de Vriend's avatar

He did go to many such places, and visited with the missionaries who often had not been there very long yet. And while I had not heard about him reading the Bible, I'd say Better Late than Never. His wife, however, was the serious Christian in the family.

Retirednottired's avatar

It always seemed to me that God could have easily set things up so that his Creation could have looked exactly like Darwin’s theory, had he wished.

Danimal28's avatar

We owe the French People some gratitude for help during many times, but now they are controlled by globalists and we cannot support it. Any sane leader would partner with the U.S. and shitcan the WEF, but...

True, we I think we repaid that debt in June 1944...with interest.

NNTX's avatar

And in WW1 as well.

Reddog's avatar

Did France ever finish paying off its war debt?

Wim de Vriend's avatar

It was a long time ago, but you can make the case that we might not have beaten the British without the very substantial French assistance. That was certainly recognized for decades after the war, and demonstrated by the honors lavished on the Marquis de Lafayette, who along with Rochambeau and others were essential in the victory at Yorktown -- Yorktown, which decided the issue.

Jeremy R's avatar

Had we not won, the central States would be French, California to Texas would be either Mexico or an independent nation and England would be speaking German and have good beer.

I read an article not that long ago, and of course I can’t find it now about some ecole in France funded by the WEF that cranks assholes like Macron, Starmer, Merz, Trudeau and now Carney here in Canada out like cookie cutters. Always the same MO… never herd of them before and all of a sudden they’re the Premiere or Prime Minister or whatever and always with a weird looking wife (or something) Sophie Trudeau and Starmer wife bucked (yes with a B) that trend but Sophie hit the road so…

This is all a set up. The well dressed commies are in charge over there and here in Chinada and the Hammers about to drop.

TeaPartyGal's avatar

Thanks for the interesting link. Despite the white-washed picture of the organization on Wikipedia, you can read between the lines. Elon Musk and Maria Corina Machado and others like them probably had no idea what it was really about when they were invited in. What actually came to mind to me was the Bohemian Grove group in California, which seems to have devolved greatly over the years. I doubt Ronald Reagan or Nixon would have anything to do with it today.

There's a streak in mankind that craves feeling important and part of the "inner circle". As Jesus said about another group, "Verily I say unto you, They have their reward."

I'll take a good old fashioned upright and grounded regular American Patriot over some self-important worldly status-seeking elitist anytime.

NNTX's avatar

I think you might mean the Ecole Politechnique (just memory, I may have the exact spelling wrong). This is the school where all the French of the ‘great and good” send their young people for training and quick admission into the “elite” governing class.

Which has surrendered to an unelected EU and never learned that taxes and regulation are growth killers.

Chuck Goldman's avatar

That rings a bell. I’m so fucking sick of these assholes in the elite bracket and their bullshit. NA’s who go to these Commie indoctrination Courses should be banned from running for office!

May GOD Almighty continue to protect President Donald J. Trump as he continues his mission to save Western civilization.

Wim de Vriend's avatar

Nevertheless, I remember the call for unity from 1958 by de Gaulle, that larger than life personification of France: "« Jamais, plus qu'ici et plus que ce soir, je n'ai senti: combien c'est beau, combien c'est grand, combien c'est généreux, la France ! »

Jim Nelson's avatar

Macron knows that it is easy to talk tough about PDJT, but in truth, he knows there is nothing he can do to counter him. France, like the U.K. , Germany, and other Western European countries, is overrun by Muslim immigrants which will, in turn, destroy their culture and, in the long run, their country. Trump is doing what they should have done long ago, deporting the non-citizens who have become a drag on every facet of society. As such, Surrender is the only real choice in the poll and one that the Frogs have been the gold medal winners for as long as I can remember.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

I feel France ,Germany and Great Britain have tacitly surrendered to the Muslin invaders leaving the rest of Europe to deal with the results of insanity posing as feelz .

NNTX's avatar

Even worse, by censoring and suppressing speech, these “leaders” are crippling the means of escape from their downfall. There are good folks in these countries that are trapped by corrupt and feckless leadership.

Looks like Keir Starmer is being hoist by his Epstein adjacent colleagues—“Lord” Mandelson and Starmer’s Chief of Staff Morgan McSweeney. And a little story of a number of Ukrainian “aspiring male models” implicated in explosions at Starmer residences.

What Little Napoleon and his three other stooges, the Putz Merz, Ursula Von der Devil, and two-tier Keir, still fail to realize, as the Democrats here likewise, is that Trump as leader of the free world, is a result, not a cause.

After decades of these globalist elites forcing and shoving their destructive and deadly machinations down the throats of their respective citizenry, we the people in the USA, said “Enough”, and rejected them, wholesale, in favor of individual freedom and National sovereignty. In short: sanity and common sense.

Thus, Trump and, by extension, we the people, are the biggest threat to their survival that they have ever faced.

Reversing decades of failed and detrimental policies regarding Immigration, energy and national security are uppermost items on the Trump administration’s to-do list in order to secure the future of this country. They also happen to be the three items which are increasingly threatening the survival of the entire European continent and UK.

It’s a face-off: reality vs. fantasy, common sense vs. lunacy, good vs. evil.

Their incomprehensible hubris has painted them into this corner. It will almost certainly result in their ruin, should they continue to cling ever tighter to it.

Buckle up.

Macron needs to remember that, if not for the US, he would now be speaking German. He needs to sit down and shut up.

We lived in Belgium in the early 80s when Reagan was putting missiles into Europe which were aimed at the USSR. The peaceniks there had their panties in a twist about it and we had to remind a few that we met about what I stated above about Macron. It shut them right up.

I was at Ramstein when Reagan brought in the missiles. The greenies tried blocking the base.
