What do you expect from a network founded by a guy married to Hanoi Jane?

James Wills's avatar

I'm not fonda Hanoi Jane.

Jake's avatar

Like most dems he thought it was a good idea at the time but then regretted it until the day he died. I believe Prince Harry understands this dilemma.

donald b welch's avatar

not sure harry is that quick

PM's avatar

Or a guy married to 'Big Mike'? Both fundamentally changed America.

Chuck Goldman's avatar

Is that guy with a 'u' or gay with an 'a'.

PM's avatar

Another word coopted by the lunatic left. I'm so old I remember when 🎵 Our hearts were carefree and gay.

Chuck Goldman's avatar

One of the most terrible things we've needed to endure is the bastardization of our language in order to make mental deficients and malignant weirdo's feel good about themselves!

Laurie's avatar

Our area is so backwards we still have a Gay Road.

Lawsy0's avatar

Dang if I wouldn't find myself some homeless guy or gal who needed $5 and have him paint the letters ENOLA at every cross street with a road sign! That five bucks might just push one over into a different tax bracket. (Listening closely to see if that gets a laugh!)

W.'s avatar

Our town has a Gay library. Named after patrons John & Judy Gay. I have fun with the name. Staff refers it as the 'John & Judy'. Can't make that up.

Ellie G's avatar

I know that is true because I used to have a library card there!

Ouch ! I have it on good Intel that Ted is a great guy .

Jeremy R's avatar

Well, technically he wasn't married to her at the time, but the fact he hates America enough to even speak to her shows where his heart is.

Adorable Deplorable's avatar

Natasha? Seriously? Was Boris the guy who leaked the memo? LOL. Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale, Bungling international spies from Rocky and Bullwinkle fame. How apropos.

Shrugged's avatar

It is a fitting analogy.

Hegseth and the B-2 pilots are rocky (flying squirrel) and Trump is Bullwinkle. Some may object to making Trump a moose, but the sharp wit and sarcasm from Bullwinkle fits Trump's quite humorous and very witty public remarks in his pressers.

Trump is funny as hell sometimes.

Jake's avatar

Another thing that sets him apart. Reagan had it too.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

This is how he wins while carving foes up with words

Shrugged's avatar

Trump. Hegseth, and Rubio (between some good jokes) sure carved up CNN, MSNBC, and the NYT.

Mincemeat doesn't describe how finely they got 'carved'.

Cookie McCall's avatar

That press conference yesterday from the Pentagon with Hegseth & Cain was excellent and full of great informative detail

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Pure beauty on fire !!!

Jim Nelson's avatar

Well, he is always pulling something out of his hat. (only folks over 60 will get that reference)

Shrugged's avatar

The young-uns can use search tools and use the idiom dictionary.

PM's avatar

And the memories come flooding back. I was also quite fond of Boris Badenov and Natasha. Some mom even named her daughter Natasha Bertrand. A more descriptive name I do not know.

Subvet's avatar

I wonder if she can walk ten feet off a cliff before falling to the bottom?

Jake's avatar

Well the FBI knows who the analyst is that wrote the assessment but how did it get to Natasha. It seems to be like the autopen signatures. We know who ran the autopen but not who gave her the paper to sign? It's tough to find the perpetrators but it's not impossible.

Suzie's avatar

It’s not the assessment itself that is at fault. Early assessments are often wrong, flawed, or incomplete, most especially for an operation of this magnitude.

It was the selective leaking of that particular assessment, which was clearly designated as “low confidence” that label being deliberately left out of all the reporting, that was the crime, the leaker the criminal.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

This was treason by all looks as it was to make the Trump team look worse than bidets. By Trump team I am talking THE U.S.of A.

Shrugged's avatar

"It was the selective leaking of that particular assessment, which was clearly designated as “low confidence” . . ."

Your point suggests it is possible the leaker (who should be prosecuted for leaking) may have leaked what was handed to him/her. The 'selective' aspect is another layer of nefarious intent. I don't know if that would be a violation of law since the dissemination within the bureau (and with the leaker) would be allowed, but knowing it would most likely be leaked to the media, selective visibility of reports down to the level of the leaker is complicity to the crime.

Suzie's avatar

It is believed by the Whitehouse, with high probability, that the leaker was actually a Democrat on the Intelligence Committee who were given all of these reports post-op.

We shall see.

Brian LeMay's avatar

Of course she's lying , ain't none of em gonna get out on a limb by themselves. Reckon what they are scared of ?

Also, here’s a description of how powerfully destructive the op was on some detail:

@HaroldWren22

Days ago, we were all looking at the pictures of Al Fordow to ascertain how badly the site was damaged following the B-2 strike using MOPs (gbu-57s).

The strike was clever-- first six went went through the air shafts as evidenced by the before and after the ventilation shaft building being obliterated. Why is this important? A lot of the criticism of this strike was people doubting the GBU-57 even with repeated strikes to same impact point could make it through the mountain. Spoiler: it did. But these six made it down the ventilation shaft WITHOUT having to bore through the mountain, directly into the main hall where the centrifuges and other sensitive equipment were.

Now about the other six impacts: the GBU-57 has enough power to go through 300 feet of hardned concrete OR rock. Meaning the first three would have broken apart the mountain and made it unstable, causing the mountain over the facility to be susceptible to collapse. The second three would have punched the rest of the way through these holes and also made it into the mail hall of Al Fordow at the other end. The holes match the schematics and are at either end of the facility.

So, to sum up, nine of the twelve GBU-57 MOPs would have entered the Al Fordow main hall nearly untouched where they detonated with full force. The other three would have been used to smash and disrupt the rock overhead making a collapse likely. The overpressure from the nine would have created the conditions favorable to collapse the site from the inside.

There is subsidance (think land slide and shape changes) to the mountain near the GBU-57 aimpoints suggesting the facility did indeed collapse.

More: there is evidence of extreme fire and its aftermath in the commercial satellite after photos, shown as a grey blue ash all over the mountain coming from the GBU-57 aimpoints, and this matches numerous videos and pictures taken by locals. There is photographic and video evidence that an intense fire inside the facility burned for up to eight hours after the strike shooting fire hundreds of feet in to the air for hours.

So what was it in Al Fordow that burned so intensely? The answer is in the reports. Official word has been released here on X that the Administration and US Military is sure that the Iranian Regime had moved the HEU 60% to Al Fordow for safe keeping as they didnt believe the site could be penetrated. This is likely true, given the facility had been under Intelligence/Surveillance/Reconnaissance watchy by ISR drones 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for months.

So what was it that burned?? The Highly Enriched Uranium. I checked the Material Safety Data Sheet on Uranium 235 **powder** and here is what it says:

Is Uranium 235 Flammable?

Yes, powdered uranium-235 is flammable. Uranium metal powder is autopyrophoric and can burn spontaneously at room temperature in the presence of air, oxygen, and water.4 The adiabatic flame temperature of uranium in air and oxygen are 3773 K and 4843 K, respectively.2 Additionally, uranium is highly flammable, and finely powdered uranium can literally catch fire on contact with air.

Now lets talk about Natanz. Some reports of OSINT accounts, and others like Jenn Griffin are claiming Natanz was also not struck sufficiently. Here's what we know: Natanz wasnt buried half as deep as Al Fordow. It was well within the capabilities of a single GBU-57 to penetrate and destroy. However we know for sure they used two GBU-57s on that site, and the aimpoint where it entered the underground facility is visible on commercial satellite imagery.

In short, all three facilities are 100% dead. There's no undoing what was done to them, they are a total loss. And there is strong circumstantial evidence the Highly Enriched Uranium is also gone, having been the fuel that caused the intense fire at Al Fordow.

Another tell: Israel hasnt felt the need to revisit any of those sites with aircraft other than Al Fordow for good measure. NATO is jubilant.

The middle east nations are also happy with the outcome of the strike. The reality is, if those sites survived, even just partially, there's no way the reaction across the board would be this pleased with the outcome.

The disinformation about the effectiveness of this strike is politically motivated, not supported by the data that is publicly available. Now, think about the ISR data we dont have. The reason the White House and Pentagon are speaking with such certainty is because they ARE certain. Operation Midnight Hammer was a total success.“

Jeremy R's avatar

I watched video of the strike. Combustion of fisable material has a signature that is unique. It was present in the video of the bombing. I assumed it was the uranium hexafluoride gas from the centrifuge chains.

The centrifuges were operating at the beginning of the war. They are not something that can be switched off in an instant. Each chain of centrifuges contains over 100 of them and they must be emptied as the chain is terminated which takes weeks. That gaseous uranium was present in the facility when the bombs hit. Assuming standard reaction results, 90+% of that is in the debris which is now compressing just like garbage in a landfill. Disturbing that material will release the uranium hexafluoride and the workers would be breathing it. End result, death. Their lungs would be fried if they inhale the tiniest amount. Support they have good SCBA and don't breathe it, they are still surrounded by it and the radiation is cooking their cells.

Brian LeMay's avatar

Great info , Thanks Jeremy .

Lawsy0's avatar

Thank you, Suzie. Good catch!

Poll: Letting CNN continue without penalty is like never reprimanding your toddler. Eventually, you end up with a monster.

A dragged-out trial with a significant court verdict with a significant damage award will play out for months in the news as CNN and all named players are dragged through the dirt. Reverse the 'distraction' tactics the left uses so THEY are the ones being excoriated every news cycle. They won't have much time or resources (or courage) left to produce fake news.

Jake's avatar

You'd think they would be criminally liable since they published an unverified story that was potentially damaging to our foreign policy.

Shrugged's avatar

If they are knowingly publishing and reporting high security information from an internal source - both party's are guilty. I would give the low-level leaker immunity to testify against the current - and past - relationship that had been established with ALL news sources who repeatedly use "confidential" sources. I would also identify who to high-level supplier of info is to the low level leaker. Nail the top level leaker and the news service knowingly using traitorous sources of top secret information.

Of course, the leaker with immunity would be fired and never work in government again.

Jeremy R's avatar

Discovery baby! They would never want to be laid bare.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

A statute barring amonymous sources is sorely needed.

Jeremy R's avatar

Their sources were probably within the IRCG or quds force, the same ones who told the Ayatollah he could whip Israel.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Did you say pencil-neck Schitt D. Ca. ????

Wim de Vriend's avatar

It's not that I wouldn't enjoy seeing the CNN apparatchiks in the docket, but what exactly would they be sued or prosecuted for? Most dishonest liars are protected by the First Amendment.

Shrugged's avatar

I'm not an attorney, but common sense tells me that these news sites who knowingly use 'confidential' sources do so because they are using insiders who are illegally disseminating top secret information. Both the leaker and the receiver are guilty of treasonous behavior.

No?

Wim de Vriend's avatar

Sooo ... here you're talking about a federal prosecution for treason; but earlier about "a significant court verdict with a significant damage award" -- which sounds more like a civil trial.

Besides, IF push came to shove and it looked bad for the news organization, they could suddenly "discover" that they'd been set up to publish false information.

Shrugged's avatar

Like I said, I'm not an attorney, although I do understand the basic difference between criminal and civil trials.

Also, by this time of the day, I am replying on the fly and probably not putting as much detail as I should.

That said, here's my point: I allege that CNN and other news sources (especially the NYT) repeatedly use 'confidential' sources that are established insider leakers. The dissemination of top secret info by that leaker is treasonous. When a news source such as CNN knowingly uses that leaker as a source they knowingly are disseminating that information. This is also treasonous. Yes, we'll have freedom of the press and first amendment issues argue in reply but knowingly disseminating top secret intelligence trumps those rights, pun intended.

Hope that helps. Of course, I suspect you are an attorney so please opine, sir.

Wim de Vriend's avatar

Nope, no attorney here. I merely remember how nothing was ever done about the leakers who favored the DC establishment. Remember the Pentagon Papers?

Shrugged's avatar

I recall that too . . . Daniel Ellsberg.

There’s a new sheriff in town. The deep state has been slow to catch on but Iran is up to speed!

I remember when the gulf war started, Bernard Shaw on air, claimed a missile went by his hotel window. At that point I knew they were FOS. Every bit of reporting was structured to show us how horrible the US was and how wonderful the Iraqi’s were.

And I am glad you mentioned Cronkite. He was not the “iconic trusted news source”, he was as slanted as they are now. But the public was too naive to understand that “the news” had already become “the propaganda”.

Douglas Baringer's avatar

Cronkite is the reason that the population of thw US came to beliwve the war in Viet Nam was lost. The US military won there during the Tet offensive the north Vietnamese lost at least 50% of their manpower. They were losing everything but the dipwads in the "press" were anti American and slanted everything to favor the communists.

“In wartime, the IDF kills half the generals and after they are done, Iran executes the survivors for spying.” And there are still hundreds of Mossad agents still operating in Iran. Can you imagine that the Mossad actually had a drone FACTORY in Iran manufacturing drones to destroy radars and kill those generals. Trump just put the icing on the cake and CNN tried to put dog sh*t in it. It didn’t work and the network will never be able to get rid of its stink.

Brian LeMay's avatar

I have the feeling that the Mossad has something in common with PDJT , they are both in " A League of Their Own " .

Hegseth was in the news business; he knows how it works. He ought to set these people up. If he suspects the leaker then give them information which, if leaked, will point directly back to them, and their media source. I’d start with the particular members of Congress, democrats, that were in receipt of the “low confidence” intel, and keep track of them. Eventually, they will screw up, and you’ve got them. The problem is following through. Do not be afraid to lock these traitors up, and prosecute them. Remember, we are not talking about very bright people; TDS is an all-encompassing disease. They can’t help themselves. Then ban whatever network that sponsors them from the White House. Period. The other kids in the playground will get the message.

Marlan Hoerer's avatar

Charge the leaker with treason and then execute on mandatory tv live.

Lawsy0's avatar

If that leaker does not FRY, we need to exhume Julius and Ethel Rosenberg and apologize!! This current leaker lacks even the honor shown by Judas! Rope, meet tree!

Wim de Vriend's avatar

Tut-tut, you know the second part will never happen. Besides, making tv "mandatory" would be cruel and unusual punishment.

Very hard to imagine the disappointment of some Americans when Trump & Co, deliver 'Bigly" on a promise. CNN's core audience is leftover 70's campus crusaders who spit on service men returning from Vietnam. They have no idea what a great country we are privileged to occupy.

Tulsi Gabbard, another great choice: 'The propaganda media has deployed their usual tactic: selectively release portions of illegally leaked classified intelligence assessments (intentionally leaving out the fact that the assessment was written with "low confidence") to try to undermine President Trump’s decisive leadership and the brave servicemen and women who flawlessly executed a truly historic mission to keep the American people safe and secure'. You can’t hate MSM enough, and CNN has a special place in Hell, cause it's the daddy of 'news networks.

I did a "like" because of what Kari has done and will continue to do with USAGM. However, be a little wari of Kari (I had to do that). She lost two races here in AZ (although both were suspect, especially her "loss" to Katie Hobbs.). Kari wasn't always terribly sensitive to us grass roots folks, and her abortion position, even though morally correct, was a misread of the then current attitude of the voters. AZ voters regrettably passed an awful pro-abortion law two years later, which will take a lot of work and prayer to overcome. I wish her well in her position and will cheer her successes, while still remaining a bit wary of Kari.

Jim Miller's avatar

If you smelled it in Texas, you shoulda been here! Over 60% of the precincts in Maricopa County began printing 19" ballots right out of the gate on E Day morning, instead of the 21" ballots the tabulators expected. Result: Shit show which delayed some voters for hours and created huge lines. Many voters just gave up and didn't vote. Supposedly all of these printers had been tested before being deployed to the voting centers. Can't happen, right? I was electioneering outside a large center and people were furious. This time around (last fall) a much smaller percentage waited to vote on the day. I worked a big voting center as an election department employee temp, and we still had a massive turnout (for Trump) on Election Day. I know this because I checked voters in and they just flat told me who they were voting for except not a one told me they were voting for Harris. It was a great day.

I remember watching the first Gulf War when CNN was the only 24 hour news network. A few days into it, they had anti-American Ramsey Clark doing commentary and I was so disgusted that in the 34 years since, I have not watched the network.

One expects Colbert to act the part of the democrat dancing monkey. Likewise, all the other "late night tv" hosts, Kimmel, Myers, et al. But the real snakes in the grass are the ones who claim "MAGA" status, but use that title to denigrate President Trump, the originator of the phrase. And here I mention most prominently Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens and the latest actual clown, Dave (who dat?) Smith. While at one time each of them could be appreciated for what he or she said (except for Smith, a guy who came out of obscurity), all have besmirched themselves through utterly shameful performances of late. The hysterical hyperbole they used in progonsticating "OMG, IT'S GONNA BE WORLD WAR III, AMERICA IS DOOMED AND IT'S BECAUSE TRUMP IS BIBI'S B_TCH!" is to their lasting shame. They are all pretty much dead to me, as they should be to you as well.

How often has a Democrat resigned his elected position after being caught in a scam/theft/bribery or sex scandal? Zero. Why? Because Demorats and their media partners have no shame. Like pickpockets, they move through the crowd of events stealing whatever half truths and lies they find useful. They pass of their take to runners, i.e., like minded participants, to create repetitive "news" stories delivered word for word by every outlet and every Dim Congress Critter. Just like pickpocket teams, the punishment for getting caught is a slap on the wrist. Nothing of lasting significance will happen to CNN for this latest arrest.
