Russia is established - troops, supply lines, weapons, control, etc. They do not have to overrun Ukraine. As Ukraine tries to force them out, the Russians will remove the threat over and over. The term 'war of attrition' came from situations like this, and it is Ukraine who will suffer the 'attrition'. Look at a map comparing the size of the countries and remember that 'everything' to the west of the Ukraine border is Russia. Ukraine, just based on the 'in'accurate reporting before the war was a very corrupt country. No one, especially us, is going to save them. It is far more likely, common sense and history says, that Z will be disappear from prominence and whoever takes over will move for peace. Russia and the US, and others with a stake in the future, will partner to help restore the country on 'humanitarian' grounds, and who will argue with that?
