What Musk said was dumb for sure but when you think about it he and Trump are birds of the same feather and why we like both of them. They speak their mind without the filter of the typical political whore.

And remember, without Musk taking over the propaganda arm of the UniParty (Twitter) we would now be living under a Kamala presidency. So let's cut the man SOME slack.

Musk has a history of making wild, unsupported claims. Remember when he called the Thai scuba divers who rescued children trapped in a flooded cave "pedos"? I wonder how much it cost him to settle their defamation suit? This is another moment of instability. I think we just have to call it "Musk being Musk." It is unfortunate and will have the Democrats dancing in the aisle plus Tesla stock plunged by 150 million. Please Elon, stick to building stuff and keep your unhinged moments private.

Shrugged's avatar

Estelle, look at the facts:

Elon Musk is a genius man who is a billionaire - the richest on planet earth - by starting some and owning four huge corporations in vastly different industrial segments. Who does that? He is more than we can understand because none of us has a clue how to duplicate it.

My question to you is what do you believe and why? Instead of asking this question, why don't you offer your explanation?

1. Musk lost billions in share value because of his devotion to Trump

2. Yet, he donated hundreds of million of dollars to get him elected. Did he miss something in his assessment of Trump? Doubt it.

3. His cars have been the subject of seek and destroy missions by literal lunatic leftists who were too stupid to know - and learn from - the fact that the car videotapes the vandalism. Then, there were the molotov cocktail throwers to burn his dealerships. Yet, he stayed the course.

4. He had already commented on losing the EV mandate weeks ago. Not the reason for his actions.

5. The CR bill had been in the works for weeks before he threw a hissy fit. Why did he wait so long? Is throwing a hissy fit for something that fits the personalities of Trump or Musk? I don't believe so.

At the end of his 180-day limited contract, Musk needs to re-establish his businesses and he needed to distance himself from Trump - not in a friendly way - but in a disagreement so he could return to his generally neutral positions and earn some reprieve from the leftists.

Trump helped his buddy because he owed him a lot.

Neither give a rat's ass what the media thinks or reports. They know their power comes from the roots of society and in what they produce. Both have produced amazing results and products. They are re-connecting Musk to those roots.

But, I am just another conspiracy theorist so perhaps you should just trust the news cycle.

There's no rational explanation that makes any sense, and as odd, strange, and curious as both of these guys are, they're going to do things most of. us wouldn't even think about. So let's go irrational: This may be the false flag psy-op play of the century, and the leftist media and the idiot Dems are eating it up. If it's a real pissing match, let's just hope it ends quickly when they realize they may be getting into lawsuit territory.

Tesla starting out was very rocky -not because of the tech (which had its own problems) but because Musk messed around with the production line and wouldn’t listen to others who had actually built cars. People who worked there love the product, the tech and all of it. BUT the 15% of the time Musk was nutso made it horrible and unpredictable.

He’s always been a guy with phenomenal ideas and brilliance but awful followup on details. No one could manage him. Except maybe his mother, sometimes.

Can anyone think of any genius who isn’t/wasn’t nutso, obsessive or at least hard to live with? Mozart, Van Gogh, Tiger, Leonardo, Picasso, Moses, Napoleon, Nelson, - all of them single minded and horrible to live with. I expect Trump to find a way to manage him.

I believe it was planned for the purpose of helping Elon move on after his 180 day contract terminated. He has suffered greatly in his loyalty to Trump and this may buffer some of the severe animosity he has received for this service.

I haven't said it will work but I am saying it was a planned event and a ruse. The problem with my belief is neither can admit to it or the purpose will be erased for Elon. That is, the leftists will go back to hating him to the point of destroying every Tesla on the road.

It wasn't the EV mandate (that Musk had already commented on weeks ago), or drugs, or OCD, or autism.

It was a ruse that can never be admitted to as happening.

Ugh. The whole feud is deeply upsetting to me. I come from a sort of large family and have experienced more than a few “family feuds” between members, and they can be devastating, especially when they are in “full flamethrower mode”. Thankfully, with regard to my family, we have managed to find our way back from them and remain whole, and even closer after the fact.

But that usually only happens when at least one of the aggrieved is willing to lay down their sword, and seek peace.

Will that happen in this case between Musk and Trump? Can it happen, is more the question, when you have two such grandiose ego’s involved?

Time will tell, and I am hoping for that.

My two-cents on the subject is that Elon, not at all familiar with the long historical and traditional arrangement of the Executive Branch’s inner-workings, stepped on one too many toes far outside his lane. We know, as it’s been reported, that he’s ruffled more than one Cabinet member’s feathers by his, shall we say, overzealous interference.

He may even have most incorrectly assumed himself to be, or at least acted like, a sort of “co-president”, not just merely one of the players on the team, with one specific job description to fulfill.

From almost the moment Trump was elected, many, many people seemed to expect instantaneous results for all the things they’d been longing for to happen: all the bad guys arrested, no more debt, peace in the world!!

But reality seldom if ever works like that, and most definitely NOT in Washington, DC!

It seems to me Elon’s feelings were hurt by whatever he has now perceived to be a grievous wrong. Whether he’s correct about that “wrong”, however, has now been eclipsed by what he has chosen to do about it, the path he has chosen to take in reaction to it. To me, he’s coming off like a petulant child in the midst of a full-throated tantrum. And I believe in doing so, he has erred greatly.

That being said, I am not all that thrilled with Trump’s handling of it either.

We’re all more than familiar with what happens to someone who betrays Trump, or is disloyal: he does not mince words. It still makes me cringe when it happens.

I wish, in this case, he would try to tamp it down a notch, but I get that the stakes are exceedingly high for him on this particular battlefield.

The whole drama is shameful, and Elon is largely to blame for taking it to the streets, and fighting dirty. That’s been extremely immature, to say the least, by my reading of it.

But I will be eternally grateful for the enormous energy, expertise and enthusiasm and high voltage brilliance Elon has brought to the MAGA Party, and for all Americans, helping us not just get to where we are, but joining in the battle and doing the hard work, and most importantly, having suffered such egregious cruelties and vicious attacks just for his having done so.

I pray they both can find a way back to each other, and that the breach can be healed, with all my heart, for these two great men who have done soo much good, and hopefully will continue to be able to do so - together.

P.S. I miss little X, too.

Very well said, Suzie. And yes, our prayers can definitely be an effective healing balm for this.

This is probably far-fetched, but I almost wonder if one of Elon's family or extended family is being held hostage somewhere and Elon is being forced to renounce Trump by some dastardly kidnapper or is melting down with fear. Probably, though, it's just Elon under general pressure and his own inherent impulsiveness. In the end, I think it will be just Elon going thru the "growing pains" of having stepped into the fetid governmental arena.

If he had a family member being held I most sincerely doubt this would be his reaction.

We have two bro's backslapping each other, one claiming non-gay love for the other and donating hundreds of millions to Trump's political campaign and now they fall out like a high school romance? And, act with the same level of high school maturity?

Musk has taken a huge torpedo to his reputation and business holdings for his work on DOGE and needs to re-capture those he has lost through this work. He needed to disown Trump.
