I have to say that we are living in scary times. I believe there has always been some corruption in the government but it always happened behind closed doors and with media (unknown to me) covering for them. Is it a good thing that are eyes are wide open now, sometimes I wonder. I would like it to be the way the movie’s used to portray the media as the good guys exposing the bad guys. And the bad guys were few but deadly. All the noise going on between the democrats and republicans I know is political to set the midterms up and I don’t for the life of me know who is winning.
I quoted Big D the other day - “No excitement without an indictment” (and subsequent arrest, trial, conviction, and execution for treason).
Okay, I added the last parts. But I’m a patient and demanding man. And prepared for disappointment.

One senior Republican on the Senate Appropriations Committee put the chances of a shutdown in the fall at “a real square 50-50.” The lawmaker warned that if the White House sends up another rescissions package, “it will be met with mixed results. ”Under congressional rules, the Senate only needs a simple majority to approve the Rescissions Act of 2025 (H.R. 4) instead of the usual 60-vote.
