The last step that needs to occur is MAGA gaining the upper hand in the state Republican Party apparatuses. Most rank-and-file Republicans are ALREADY heavily Trump supporters-- 85-90%. Far, far better to take over the existing Republican Party structure, with its financial and real estate resources and administrative structure and ballot access in all 50 states, than try to set up from scratch a brand new party. It would take 20 years to develop a working infrastructure for a new party.
And taking over the state Republican party structures is VERY doable. It is already underway, but more people need to get involved and throw their weight behind it. Right now, in West Virginia, the state and county Republican party positions will be elected in the May 12th primary. I see the names of several marvelous, serious, former Tea Party activists on the ballot for key state and country Republican Party Executive Committees. (I would not list their names here, though, because this is Don Surber's website, and his purpose is not to be endorsing specific candidates.)
But if you investigate in your state, you could find out among all those names running for state party positions, which are the RINO's and which are the MAGA people. This is a very powerful thing we can do and RIGHT NOW is when these elections are being held nationwide. Other states may have different schedules, but in West Virginia both the Republican and Democratic state party officials are elected in the Primary of the non-Presidential election years. And these are like school board and judges elections, the public has no idea who these people are, and very few voters fill out that section of the ballot. So if you just lobby your friends, neighbors, fellow church members, etc., you could get elected.
The first step, though, is starting to attend your local monthly state and county party meetings, and finding out how things work and what's going on, and who's MAGA and who's RINO. It is easy.

I’m not going to argue with you here. We both see this issue much differently. MAGA is not a party, it’s a movement and I would add that it includes a great many people who are not republicans. The hype was created and is sustained by DJT to fight the media propaganda largely. I expect it to largely decrease after Mr Trump leaves office. What MAGA did do was wake up a lot of GOP members and all voters to what was happening in the country, a good thing. I would expect Vance and or Rubio have a good shot at winning in 28 but their personalities are much different than Mr Trumps. I do expect both of them to carry on much of Mr Trumps agenda as well but the Congress will likely look much different in 28 and the impeachments and further damage will return, likely after mid-term.. There is little I see in the GOP that tells me he has fundamentally changed the party. The same inertia is still there. Mr Trump has had some success at getting rid of some Rinos and a couple crazies but it hasn’t translated into a changed party as yet. I’m not sure why so many people are afraid of a third party when the alternative is more of the same. I didn’t realize how far gone the GOP was until I watched the SAVE act discussion by the party. Yes--you are totally correct that the majority of top level Republican office holders (in the US House and Senate) are NOT MAGA. But THEY are not even real Republicans--they are RINO's--so it can not be said that THEY are the real Republican Party either. WE are the Republican Party now.
MAGA just hasn't penetrated the old country-club Republican last-bastion of the state party apparatuses. These old-school RINO's are the last gasp of the old Republican Party. Windmills and solar farms pollute the verdant farmland; two are within a quarter-mile of my home. I won't even begin on the new baby-murder laws.

As many of you know, I lived behind the Iron Curtain for a few years in the early 80s. I spent 3 of the coldest winters on record there with no heat, no hot water and no gas in my stove. It was warmer inside my refrigerator than it was in my apartment.

Yes--you are totally correct that the majority of top level Republican office holders (in the US House and Senate) are NOT MAGA. But THEY are not even real Republicans--they are RINO's--so it can not be said that THEY are the real Republican Party either. WE are the Republican Party now.
MAGA just hasn't penetrated the old country-club Republican last-bastion of the state party apparatuses. These old-school RINO's are the last gasp of the old Republican Party. And the way we get them OUT is to have state party apparatuses that are dominated by MAGA people who close the door on endorsing and funding the RINO holdovers, and instead endorse and direct the vast RNC funding to MAGA, not RINO candidates.
Before long, MAGA will control the entirety of the Republican party, at which time we can give it a new name, and it will be the political party of the MAGA political movement.
America won't survive long enough for the 20 year+ process of setting up an entirely brand new party from scratch. And I guarantee you, even if you DO set up a new third party, it will also become vulnerable to rot from within (just like the current Republican and Democratic parties were) if We The People do not keep a close watch on it and vote carefully for the state and country party executives.
Look, we are not going to agree on this. But you say that the way that we get the Rinos out is thru grassroots at the state party level. Where the hell do you think a majority of those Rinos came from? I don’t believe the present GOP is capable of changing on its own. Both parties are hopelessly locked in “this is the way we have always done it”. The GOP has no idea how to attack but they have learned well how to play defense. As soon as Mr Trump leaves office the Country Club will revert right back to the same old inertia because it’s easier and no one will stop them unless they are threatened by a viable third party of real conservatives. Lots of things are going to happen between now and the 28 elections. But unless GOP voters get very loud and threaten an exodus and cutoff of funds, the party is not likely to change. Right now, all that is happening is wasted investigations and more investigations. Just one big reality show where nothing changes. Frankly, my gut tells me the debt is going to change the operation of both parties and no one is going to like what happens then. Since neither of us have crystal balls, we will just have to wait and see what happens.

The problem (among many problems) is, as I said to TPG, is the lack of TALENT on the conservative side. I don't think there's any doubt about it; there were plenty of witnesses, except that Adolf and Eva, his long-time girlfriend whom he had just married, killed themselves in a private room, in the bunker. I love where I live. I love my neighbors and my friends. I get up every morning and look across my pond to see beautiful sunshine clipping the tops of the trees as Old Sol begins his daily trek, and I give thanks for my life.
But I can't stay. Virginia is under siege. Forces of evil have overtaken the state government; Alleged Governor Scam-berger and the General Assembly have gone full progressive and woke; today they just passed a law allowing the government to overfly every square inch of the state with camera-drones, including all private property. Attacks on gun owners proceed apace. Vote fraud is now law, and it is illegal to investigate fraud in state programs. Energy? Windmills and solar farms pollute the verdant farmland; two are within a quarter-mile of my home. I won't even begin on the new baby-murder laws.
What a shame. One of the most beautiful, desirable states in the nation, destroyed by the leftist mania for power. As the old song goes, Tennessee - I hear you callin' me.
Eventually it will be all states as the Leftists leave Blue states for Red & vote the same way they did in the states they destroyed & left in ruins.

As many of you know, I lived behind the Iron Curtain for a few years in the early 80s. I spent 3 of the coldest winters on record there with no heat, no hot water and no gas in my stove. It was warmer inside my refrigerator than it was in my apartment.
This is what Chicagoans and the residents of other northern blue cities can look forward to. It will be interesting to see the reaction from the residents come January.

For those on the fence about who to vote for president in 2028, if Pritzker runs, these kinds of policies will be nationwide, not just in Illinois.

Cash for Clunkers was a great program to make used cars very expensive. And the result after all of this time is all you see on the road is 26 year old Honda Civics!!!
