Blaming white Republicans
NBC reported on June 1, “A 12-year-old honor roll student who was fatally shot in Jackson, Mississippi, was remembered by loved ones Wednesday as an empathetic and protective old soul who was always concerned about the safety of others.
“Adrian Hawkins-McDougles and his 16-year-old brother, Onterrio, were walking to their grandmother’s house last Thursday to get batteries for a video game controller when they were struck by bullets from a drive-by shooting, according to police and the boys’ mother, Kyneshia McDougles.
“Adrian, who had attended his sixth-grade graduation hours earlier, died on the sidewalk, and his brother was wounded, authorities said.
“They were shot three weeks after McDougles, 33, had moved her family about 90 miles away from Jackson, fearing for their safety amid gun violence and a rise in violent crime. They returned last week so Adrian could go to his graduation ceremony.”
The three murder suspects are black.
Jackson, Mississippi, has the nation’s highest homicide rate with 88.8 homicides per 100,000 people in 2022. WLBT reported that is down 13% from 2021.
The Associated Press is alarmed that Republicans want to stop the carnage.
AP said, “Tensions erupted Friday as the majority-white and Republican-controlled Mississippi House passed the final version of a bill to expand the territory of a state-run police department inside the capital city of Jackson, which is majority-black and governed by Democrats.”
The story also said, “About 83% of Jackson residents are black — the largest percentage of black residents of any major U.S. city.”
But AP did not mention that not only is Jackson the blackest city in America but also the national leader in murders.
AP leaves a lot of important stuff out of stories.
In Mississippi, Democrats demonized police officers.
AP said, “During the House debate Friday, Democrat Zakiya Summers said many black parents already talk to their children about being careful around police. She said her biggest fear is that her three sons — Marvin, Mason and Mathis — will be treated with hostility.”
I would think being killed by another black person would be a bigger fear than a cop being terse with them.
She said, “While they’re traveling around the city of Jackson and they get pulled over, they’re going to have to keep their hands on 10 and 2. They’re not going to be able to say a doggone thing to that police officer. The only thing that they’re going to have to do is pray and hope that they can make it back home safely.”
Guess what? I, too, taught my sons not to mess with cops. It is called being a parent and knowing teenage boys have no sense at all.
The hostility toward the state helping with the murders stands in stark contrast to Democrat demands six months ago that Republicans bail out the capital city. The NAACP — which opposes having state police patrol in Jackson — blamed the state for the city-run water department’s inability to provide residents with clean water.
In September, AP said, “In a federal complaint Tuesday, the NAACP said Mississippi officials all but assured’ a drinking water calamity in Jackson by depriving the state’s majority-black capital city of badly needed funds to upgrade its infrastructure. The organization asked the Environmental Protection Agency to investigate the state’s alleged pattern of steering money to white communities with less need.”
So those white Republicans should fix the black Democrats’ water crisis but not the black Democrats’ murder problem.
Got it.
In that stop-the-murders story, AP quoted Democrat Solomon Osborne, who said, “Mississippi has always been first in racism.”
How do you know Democrats are losing an argument? When they cry racism.
But white people did not kill 100 or more black people in Jackson, Mississippi, in each of the last three years. Black people did.
It is clear to me that the democrats do not want any problems solved. They would rather use their racist attitudes to make everyone else responsible for their own malfeasance. No wonder they have to lie, cheat, and slander to win elections and then stay in power.
I have said this before and I will say it now. Democrats and liberals ONLY want you to lie and falsify everything. For them to hear and actually listen to the truth would be to admit they are wrong. May God save The United States.
